OPM coaching is an ongoing process. Information is gathered, your response is observed, and the plan changes accordingly. That process continues for as long as we work together.
How Coaching Decisions Are Made
Every decision starts with the information available, including how you've trained, how you've responded, and what you're working toward. From that information, we form a view on what matters most right now and decide how to proceed. We then watch how you respond. That response becomes new information, and the plan is adjusted accordingly.
"The plan changes because understanding changes."
The same approach applies whether we're deciding on a single session or planning the next several months. This is why the plan you start with is rarely the plan you end with. It's the plan that's right for where you are now.
What Coaching Includes
01
UNDERSTAND
We begin by building the most accurate picture possible of you as an athlete. Sometimes that comes through conversation. Sometimes it comes through training, observation, or physiological testing. The method depends on the question being asked.
02
HYPOTHESIZE & INTERVENE
Every coaching decision is a hypothesis about what is most likely to improve performance. Training becomes the intervention used to test that hypothesis and generate new information.
03
LEARN & REPEAT
The athlete changes. The situation changes. New information changes our understanding. Coaching is a continuous process of learning, adjusting, and beginning again with a more accurate picture than before.
WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK TOGETHER
What you tell me matters.
If something feels different, if your schedule changes, if you're responding better or worse than expected, that's useful information. The better we understand what's actually happening, the better the decisions become.
Over time, patterns start to emerge. We learn what you respond to, what you don't, what tends to move the needle, and what doesn't.
Apply for Coaching
OPM takes on a limited number of private coaching clients at a time. The application process exists because coaching works best when there is a strong fit between the athlete, their goals, and the coaching relationship.
Applications are reviewed individually. You can expect to hear back within 5 business days. If there appears to be a fit, we will schedule a discovery call to discuss your goals, history, and what the coaching relationship could look like.
